Survo puzzles

In a Survo puzzle the task is to fill an m x n table by integers 1,2,...,m*n so that each of these numbers appears only once and their row and column sums are equal to integers given on the bottom and the right side of the table. Often some of the integers are given readily in the table in order to guarantee uniqueness of the solution and/or for making the task easier.

For example, in the Survo puzzle on the right the integers 3, 6, and 8 are readily given. Thus the task is to find the correct places for the rest of the integers 1-12 so that the sums will match. Give it a try!

    Survo puzzles have been eagerly studied and solved among the active Survo users and their friends beginning from the spring of 2006. In harder cases various computational features of the Survo system have been helpful.

    Many people have found Survo puzzles more interesting and more challenging than popular Sudoku and Kakuro puzzles.

    Basic information and guided solutions are given in the paper www.survo.fi/papers/puzzles.pdf.

    A new method for solving Survo puzzles is presented in On the swapping method.
    Some theoretical results are presented in Enumeration of Survo puzzles (24 October 2007).
    Plenty of Survo puzzles to be solved by the swapping method are available as a Java applet.

    This problem has several solutions since the marginal sums are exactly the same as those in two previous problems (75 and 76/2007). The task is to find all solutions of this Survo puzzle.
    It is required to give just the number of different solutions. The task is practically impossible without making a computer program for solving Survo puzzles.
